My Limerick poems

LI: To write a limerick poem

Limerick poem

There once was boy named Kizi
whose hair was very frizzy
and even though he had an afro he never ever felt silly

There was an old woman feeling down who always had a frown and
even though her smile was slow she never felt like a clown There once was a boy named Ken who liked to eat hen
but even he liked to show mercy
when it comes to his friend

Our Basketball lesson

On Tuesday 16 of October 2012 we had a basketball lesson with a very high class basketball player. He told us that he made 1,000,000 dollars when he was 18 and everyone thought he was cool he also told us that he will give us his respect, but if we lose it he will not give us any more. His name is Bruce and he taught us how to dribble the ball and a figure eight move with the basketball between our legs. These are really good basketball techniques. He was as fit as an Olympic winner.

The Auckland War Memorial Museum

The Auckland War Memorial Museum is an historical structure built for displaying  Aotearoa’s most ancient artifacts and taonga that have been preserved.

The Auckland War Memorial Museum is located In the Auckland Domain near the C.B.D. It is also a great place to learn about the most historical artifacts around Aotearoa and Auckland. It looks like a big concrete beehive and is spread over three stories with thirty display areas and galleries.
People moving in and out of the museum make it look like a bee-hive too.

The Wharenui is a sacred place where people are expected to walk very silently without their shoes. The carved wooden rafters and beams show skills the Maori Craftsman have.
The volcanic room is found on the second floor of the museum. People go there to learn about the volcanic history of Aotearoa. It also provides the visitors with a first hand experience of a volcanic eruption.
Next to the volcanic room is the aquatic room which has a massive range of preserved sea creatures. The aquarium has a crayfish which is about two metres long as its main attraction. This room provides a lot of learning opprtunities for its visitors.
The War Memorial has a list of names of all the brave sldiers who fought in the World Wars and died serving their country, Aotearoa.
Aucklanders who haven't been to the museum should visit the museum to  learn about New Zealand and Pacific history. It will enlighten them about their past.

What a shocker!

Room 7 went for a class trip to Pak’n Save to learn about food labels and making good choices about the food we buy. I already knew what food labels mean because my aunty owns the Glen Innes Cheltenham Cakes home bakery. I go with my aunty to Gilmours to help stock up on ingredients and she gets me to read the food labels so I don’t get bored.

During our visit to Pak’ N Save what really surprised me was how much sugar was in the cereal, what a shocker! The group that I was in chose the best tasting cereal because it had the most sugar and the less fibre. I would recommend All Bran as a good cereal. If you want your cereal to be a bit sweeter add some fresh or tinned fruit.

At the end of our trip Pak’N Save gave us a $60 gift voucher for a class lunch.
