     6.   Do some plants from the Triassic period still exist today?  Explain your answer. Yes.

Application Questions: Create, Share
     7.   Do you think the information in this article would be useful if you were researching why other animals have become extinct? Why? No. It doesn't really say how the dinosaurs went extinct
     8.   What question would you ask a palaeontologist (dinosaur expert) about the Triassic
period? I would ask them how dinosaurs where found by man.

Thinking beyond : Create,  Share
Analysis: What are some problems palaeontologists might have when researching dinosaurs?  Upload your answer to your individual blog. (Task 1) They might have problems figuring out when the bones where put into the grounds and how they ACTUALLY went extinct

Synthesis: If you had unlimited money, how would you protect animals which are in danger of becoming extinct?  Share your answer as a blog post. (Task 2) I would buy one big piece of land and put 2 of each animal that was about to go extinct and I would pay people to protect them with all there might and make sure that they repopulate.

Evaluation: Do you think it would be better to spend money on trying to solve problems in today’s world rather than researching dinosaurs?   Explain your answer. Upload your explanation to your individual blog. (Task 3) Yes. Because there are alot more problems going on today than with dinosaur research. but it depends on what your into.

Hands on: Do some research of a Triassic period dinosaur then, using materials of your own choice, make a 3D model of a Triassic period period dinosaur. Take a picture of your model.  Upload your picture to your blog. (Task 4) or, using a paint programme, draw a dinosaur of the Triassic period. Take a screenshot of the drawing and upload it to your blog.

Mr Alan Duff's visit

Today Alan Duffy came to our school while he was in New Zealand. He came in to our class and talked about what our dreams where and at the same time talking about his book that he had made about our NZ hero's. A lot of people were telling him what there dreams where, a majority of them were rugby players. He was only here for a short visit because he had to go to France tomorrow to write another book. Just before he left he answered a few questions and I never knew a lot of the things he said so I learnt a lot. Finally he had to go and we all said our goodbyes, it was an honour having him in our class.

What a socially responsible person is

WALT: Write an explanation about topics that have set criteria.

Success criteria: We are able to follow the explanation writing process to explain the criteria of what it takes to be a socially responsible person.

Explain what it meens to be a socially responsible person

To be a socially responsible person is to be someone who admits mistakes and apologizes when ever he or she has done something wrong. Also to be someone who helps people in need and shows respect to others. They are always honest and make good choices when ever needed, example you watch someone drop there wallet and they are completly oblivious and he could go grab it and keep it but instead he quickly runs up to that person and gives them back there wallet untouched. They own up if they have done something wrong and face the consequences such as getting in a fight but they own up and apologize to that person while facing the consequences . They must not just be kind to the community but to everyone in it aswell otherwise they are no where near a socially resposible person at all. Also being a socially resposible person is to not expect a reward at all.

How Do I Get To School In The Morning

W.A.L.T - We are learing to plan and write an explanation.

Explanation - Every moring of the week from monday to friday I get driven to school from my house. It takes at least 7 to 8minutes to get to school so I need to leave my house by 8:20 or 8:30. On the way there I see lot’s of people going to work and leaving to go to school.

I also pass another school on the way there. I have to go through a couple streets one of them I actually used to live in.

First you have to travel down my street and then into Glen Innes, once there you travel all the way onto the street next to K.F.C and go down Maybury Street all the way and make a left, when you get to the roundabout then go down the street to the right, go until you get to the shops and make a left, keep going down the street and turn right and there’s my school.

There are also many other routes you can go through. Most of them take about the same time and traffic is never really bad.

Virtual bike wars

One of my reading tasks was to create a new sport or game which would require the use of bicycles.
I created a virtual game called Virtual Bike Wars.

Virtual bike Wars.
In this game people are required to wear simulation goggles while riding down a straight path, 500m long. They must go through lots of simulations such as zombies, jousting and a lot more. There is even multiplayer, where you and your friends can battle it out. If you are knocked off your bike at any time in the simulation then you lose.

I love virtual games. I wonder if this could be made a real life game. It would take alot of effort now that I think about it.

Reflection

Having a netbook connected to the internet has most definitely helped me with all of my work and my learning. Without the internet we wouldn't have been able to practice our technological studies. This year having a netbook helped me learn how to use my percentages and fractions.

Also it helped me to learn how to make a video and edit it.My friend taught me how to use the netbook microphone and make it in sync with the video.I was taught by my brothers friend how to upgrade your computer’s hard drive space and how many gigs it can run at. I taught them a few things like how to re image a netbook and just a few basic netbook things. I have learnt my key competencies by using the internet to improve my thinking and Relating to others, using signs and symbols, managing my self and by participating and contributing to others.

Long weekend recount

In the long weekends I went out to do a really big delivery which involved about 50Christmas cakes. It was the biggest order I have ever seen and we made alot of money off it to. On the way back we stopped and had some lunch at a bakery which I thought wasn't gonna be very good. Turns out it was delicious. When we got back home my nan gave me $30 to buy some games off my computer with. How I brought the games was off a software called steam and origin.

I ended up buying Sims city4 and far cry 3 Deluxe edition I was so stoked until I saw how long the download took. So I waited and I waited and sims city had finished downloading but far cry 3 had just started downloading (Only one game could download at a time) So I went and played sims city while far cry was downloading and it’s a alright game. you start off with a randomly generated earth. You click on a island and you terrafourm it (Like making mountains and rivers and all that cool stuff) After you finished terrafourming you get to make a city. You can choose to be a eco friendly city or a oil and coal mining city. It’s completely your choice you also have to build houses and shopping centers. The more houses and land marks you put down the more population you get. Some city's don’t have to have residents in them.

hooray far cry 3 had finally downloaded so I immediately started playing it. It was so intense with all the shooting, driving and cliff jumping into shark infested water and all I had was a knife while in the water. I was just peacefully driving and then my car broke down I hopped out and then I got jumped by a pack of leopards. That was it I went to bed after what happened.
